Happy 10th Anniversary The Cozy Loft!

Good morning lovelies!

Today is April 4, 2018 and it’s the 10TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY for The Cozy Loft! Has it been a decade already?? I just can’t believe it!

I wanted to do something extra special so I’m doing a giveaway!! You can enter to win by commenting once on any blog post here at www.thecozyloft.com – one entry per day though you can comment as many times as you’d like. There will be several prizes (including a grand prize pack!!) so there will be several winners – yay!!!

Since my Facebook page and blog is about all kinds of things, but mostly girlie, Shabby Chic and artistic/hand painted pretties, you can expect to see plenty of those kinds of things. So much fun!!

One of the items in the grand prize pack will be a Spa Sonic Pro! This is an 8 piece Face & Body Polisher Professional Kit in aqua blue:

There’s more to come and you’ll see those items between now and the end of the month. The drawing will be on April 30th around 6:00 pm CST. Be sure to subscribe to the blog so you can receive a notification when a new post is up. All friends and family are invited to participate. All readers are invited to participate. If you are located outside of the USA, there may be shipping restrictions to some areas. Please keep in mind that I may not be able to ship some or all of your winnings to you if there are country restrictions preventing me from doing so. If that happens, we’ll figure out a solution.

Many of the items I’m giving away are specially for women. I know I have many guys who follow my work and f you’re a guy, please feel free to enter, too. There are some things I’m giving away that will be perfect for you and others that you can give away, should you win. Mother’s Day is coming up fast, you know. Wink Wink! <3

GOOD LUCK lovelies! Most of all, THANK YOU for your support, encouragement and friendship. I am truly blessed by each and every one of you.

xoxo,

Embracing Life

There are no brakes on life. It’s hard and fast and furious if we fight it and try to slow it down. Since that doesn’t work, what if we embrace it – no matter what the old devil has thrown at us? He will make sure to distract us with things that keep us down rather than build us up. He makes evil things look like something we want or something we should want in order to be happy. But we never are.

I painted this painting called “Hello World” back in 2015:

It’s funny my very own work means something more to me now than it did back then. When I painted it, I was thinking of a world of possibilities and welcoming those possibilities. And, I still do think of this.  Now, I also see him outstretched and looking to God for guidance and being open, welcoming His presence. Since there are large buildings, I imagine him to be in the city where there is lots of noise and distractions but he is focused, has direction and determination.

Because of all this, I love the painting even more. I’ve held on to him for a good deal of time but I do feel he’s ready. I have listed him in the shop .

I hope he brings someone joy, just as he has me.

Country Farmhouse Decor

How much are you loving the Farmhouse Decor style that’s so popular right now? Everywhere I turn, I am inspired by this decorating trend. It’s clean, yet stylish and personable. There’s no doubt that we owe this to Chip & Joanna Gaines and Fixer Upper/Magnolia Market. The design style is perfection…at least to many of us.

Being inspired by something – I mean genuinely inspired by something – is such a blessing! I’m talking about the truly inspired, down deep in your soul, moving kind of thing. Recently, a friend suggested I join a DIY farmhouse inspired group and since then, all sorts of new ideas and plans have filled my head and my notebooks!

If asked, I would sum up the idea of the Farmhouse Style with the warmth of wooden signs that speak of family, practical pieces that have function and a cozy aspect that makes a house into a home. Did I miss something?

Here’s a brand new item coming from The Cozy Loft I’ll have available very soon:

This is a standard size mason jar with a silver lid and I’ve hand painted a goat on there along with some black dots for contrast around the piece. This would be beautiful for kitchen storage and decor or would also be perfect on a desk, vanity or really anywhere your imagination can place it.

I love that I can offer so many things to make others happy. It’s what drives me and what pushes my creativity. Just wait til you see the other new goods I’m working on.
