Giveaway Information & Official Rules

Hello!

It’s been a while since I’ve hosted a giveaway and since I’ve decided I’d like to try it on Instagram, I’ll be conducting the contest there. Between now and the end of the year, there will be a giveaway each month, so be sure to follow me at: www.instagram.com/thecozyloftofficial so you’ll see the contests.

This is what will be given away:

Three fan art creations – Mickey, Minnie and Mickey & Minnie together. You can keep them all for yourself or gift them. Each of them can be personalized on the back, too!

Here are the official rules:

No purchase is necessary and a purchase does not enhance your chance of winning. This giveaway is being hosted by Rhonda James, Artist of The Cozy Loft. Winning artwork does not transfer rights. Contest void where prohibited.

Contest begins September 8, 2018 at 8:00 pm CST and ends on September 15, 2018 at 8:00 pm CST. After all entries are compiled on a spreadsheet and assigned a number, the random number generator will be used to determine a winner. Winner will be announced on September 15, 2018 at 8:10 pm CST.

To be eligible, you must be a follower of www.instagram.com/thecozyloftofficial, liked and/or shared the prize photo and have commented on any post during the contest times and dates as mentioned above. One entry per person per day. This contest is open worldwide to all ages 3 and up. It is your responsibility to determine if glass ornaments from Tennessee, USA are permitted in your location. If the winner is disqualified, another winner will be selected.

September’s prize to be given away: 3 glass fan art ornaments, hand painted. One of Mickey & Minnie together and one each of Mickey and Minnie for a total of 3 ornaments.

By your entry in this contest, you are giving your consent to The Cozy Loft to use your name/user name in the same manner of which you entered the contest as well as the general country and/or state in which you reside. Otherwise, all information is kept in confidence.

Odds of winning depend upon number of entries. One winner will be chosen for the September giveaway. Once the winner is determined, it will be announced on www.instagram.com/thecozyloftofficial and you have 24 hours to contact The Cozy Loft with your name and complete address (including country).

Good luck and thank you for entering! Please be sure to check back often. There will be more giveaways to come between now and the end of the year.

Warm wishes from The Cozy Loft!

Embracing Life

There are no brakes on life. It’s hard and fast and furious if we fight it and try to slow it down. Since that doesn’t work, what if we embrace it – no matter what the old devil has thrown at us? He will make sure to distract us with things that keep us down rather than build us up. He makes evil things look like something we want or something we should want in order to be happy. But we never are.

I painted this painting called “Hello World” back in 2015:

It’s funny my very own work means something more to me now than it did back then. When I painted it, I was thinking of a world of possibilities and welcoming those possibilities. And, I still do think of this.  Now, I also see him outstretched and looking to God for guidance and being open, welcoming His presence. Since there are large buildings, I imagine him to be in the city where there is lots of noise and distractions but he is focused, has direction and determination.

Because of all this, I love the painting even more. I’ve held on to him for a good deal of time but I do feel he’s ready. I have listed him in the shop .

I hope he brings someone joy, just as he has me.

The Bee’s Knees

So do bees have knees?

When I painted this painting, I questioned that over and over in my mind. If they do, they sure are cute ones! A little while back, I created this painting that I titled “The Buzz”:

Daisies have long been my favorite flower. They find their way in my paintings from time to time, but the inspiration behind this piece was another artist’s work I had found on eBay. Actually, I tried to purchase it for myself and was outbid at the last second. If it were to do over, I’d put a larger bid in there now! 🙂

A good deal of time passed and even though I could no longer see it or see even who created it, I longed to get it out of my soul and onto canvas in a style of my own. I so wish I could remember and if you happen to know, please leave a comment. I know the original one was in oil and was more of an impressionist style, if that helps. I could have had more or less bees and/or flowers, too.

When I painted my version, it turned out to be very popular on my Facebook page, so I thought I’d go ahead and offer some art print in a limited quantity in the shop here.

Okay, so I had a little fun with creating the listing for the shop, too. I played around with a virtual room to see what the print would look like framed in there. That was so much fun to do!

I’m planning to offer more digital downloads of some of my popular pieces as well. They are so affordable for any budget and it would let more people enjoy the piece. Sharing the joy so to speak.
